An officer of first batch of women logistics officers of Indian Air Force, Wing Commander Anuma Acharya has taken VRS (09 years ahead of her actual retirement) on 31 October last year in order to work in vidisha Madhya Pradesh, her place of birth, where her father’s family resides for many generations. She has received many medals and commendations for professionals excellence as a Logistics Oficer of Indian Air Force and has also been felicitated for her courage and bravery for fighting back the odds of life, from organisations, who recognise such act of courage. Anuma has started to do small motivational events for the students of all the schools of vidisha for last three years, but then decided to make it a full time objective to work for Vidisha and left her highly paid and secured government service. Presently she is associated with counselling of women, who suffer domestic violence. Anuma’s next steps are towards to holistic growth and awareness of people of Vidisha.
